Manchester United – PSG Shone on the big stage again
Paris Saint-Germain win big as Manchester United fall at Old Trafford
They started out as Neymar’s Paris Saint-Germain, then they became that of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe but what became clear at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening is that this PSG team is Mbappe‘s. The World Cup winner conquered the Theatre of Dreams and has a few stadiums left to leave a mark on, one of those being the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Angel Di Maria was booed, whistled and insulted, even being the target of a thrown bottle, but he responded with a smile and left the pitch having assisted twice, even pretending to drink from the bottle after it landed beside him.
Premier League form counts for nothing and United came up short when really tested against PSG, even though the French side were missing Neymar and Cavani.
Ashley Young smashed into Di Maria, sending him into a fence and leaving him lying off the pitch. The referee was badly placed and gave a yellow card to the Englishman.
The one who ended up seeing red was Paul Pogba as he was ruled out of the return leg in Paris after being sent off late.
